The therapist applies firm pressure to the tool as it slides across the tissue in a scraping pattern. Lubricant, usually lotion, is used to make the tools glide across the skin more easily. The instrument combs through soft tissue restrictions and scar tissue, creating microtrauma to the affected tissue. This stimulates local inflammatory processes to initiate the resorption of unhealthy tissue, promoting tissue remodeling and the production of healthy tissue.
Trigger Point Therapy (TPT)
TPT involves applying pressure to painful, sensitive areas to relieve pain on-site and in areas of the body. TPT is performed by a physical therapist pressing and holding trigger points in the muscles. This temporary obstruction of blood flow to the tissue causes signals your body to open up tiny blood vessels, which results in more blood flow and breaking the pain-spasm-pain cycle.
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT)
Extracorporeal shockwave therapy is a non-invasive alternative to surgery for patients with various joint and tendon disorders. ESWT sends acoustic shock waves into bone or soft tissue, which then reinjures the area on a cellular level and breaks up the scarring that has penetrated tendons and ligaments.
Red Light Therapy (RLT)
RLT is a treatment that uses low wavelength red light to improve your skin's appearance, such as reducing wrinkles, scars, redness, and acne.
Heat/Ice Therapy
Heat helps increase the flow of blood and nutrients to a specific area of the body. It is often great for morning stiffness or to warm up muscles before activity. Cold slows blood flow and reduces swelling and pain. It can help ease pain that comes from everything from sprains to sciatica.
Interferential current (IFC)
This therapy helps to heal tissues by sending small amounts of electrical stimulation to the damaged area. The therapy is meant to boost the body's natural response to pain, increase blood flow and the production of hormones that promote healing.
Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
A therapy that uses low-voltage electrical current to relieve pain. A TENS unit is a battery-powered device that sends electrical impulses through electrodes placed on the skin. The electrodes are placed on or near the nerves that are causing the pain or at trigger points.
Ultrasound Therapy
This therapy is used to detect and treat various musculoskeletal issues you may be experiencing, such as pain, tissue injury, and muscle spasms. A physical therapist might use therapeutic ultrasound to provide deep heating to soft tissues to increase blood circulation.
Chiropractic Adjustment
The specialist will use pressure to manipulate the joints in your body to realign your spine, reducing pain and discomfort. The goal is to improve spinal movement and overall physical function of the body. It can target lower back pain, upper back pain, and much more.
Acupuncture Therapy
Acupuncture therapy is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that involves inserting very thin needles at specific points on the body. Acupuncture is most commonly used to relieve pain, but it is also increasingly being used for overall wellness and stress management.
Counseling & Support Tailored To You, For You
Nutritional Counseling
Providing education on food, nutrition, biochemistry, and physiology to help manage and overcome behavioral and mental health disorders, as well as autoimmune diseases, diabetes, and other conditions. Learn to read food labels and understand ingredients, whole foods, and cooking methods.
Custom-made Orthotics
Medical devices are inserted into the shoe to correct an abnormal or irregular walking pattern. They act as shock absorbers, relieving pressure and stress from painful areas of the foot and ankle. This adjustment can also help with upper and lower back pain.
Corrective Exercises
Corrective exercises are gentle stretches and routines that aim to mend damaged soft tissue, muscles, and joints, as well as address specific dysfunction or limitation that is preventing proper movement.
Supplement Counseling
Our supplement counseling is focused on helping you achieve and maintain optimal health, wellness, and peak performance.
Food Sensitivity Testing
Food sensitivity tests are typically used to see how your immune system responds to different types of food. Food sensitivities are caused by cell-mediated reactions and antibodies such as IgG, IgM, and IgA. On the other hand, an allergic reaction is often caused by a specific type of immune response known as an IgE response.
Functional Blood Work Analysis
Unlike conventional blood analysis, which uses broad reference ranges to diagnosis a disease, functional blood testing uses specific ranges derived from healthy individuals to determine disease risk and identify sub-clinical health problems long before they manifest as full-blown disease.
Stool Testing
Your stool sample will be tested to determine your digestive function, gut inflammation, and the types of bacteria in your gut. A report detailing any infections, inflammation, insufficiencies, or imbalances is used to create a personalized treatment plan.
Posture Analysis
Postural analysis can determine if a person has any postural deviations, imbalances, muscle weakness, or other defects in their movement patterns that could cause pain or discomfort.
